New batch 130-133

The last Old Guran in the previous batch is ready. Time to pick out those who are in line in the queue. Always as fun.

It is a mixed collection of 4 items, three guitars and a mandolin. Have bought a new and better camera that hopefully will give better pictures. Have thought about following these a little extra since it was a long time since I did a renovation thread and a lot has happened since last time.

From left to right:

1 A really cool Levin mandolin from 1918 according to the customer (must double check the numbers). Unusual with such an old Levin mandolin that is not a ball but has a flat bottom! The red color is not original, it was brown when it was made but is now red due to sun bleaching. I think it's nicer!

2 A slightly finer Levin “tilt” from 1929. Has been close to a campfire as it seems 🙂

3 A fantastic flea market find for SEK 95. An August Carlstedt Ideal guitar made in Boston. All in mahogany except for the lid and fingerboard / stable in ebony. A LARGE guitar with a wide rim and basically as good quality as a Larsson guitar from the same period.

4 The smallest harp guitar I've ever seen. It has "bar frets", which indicates that it is most likely from the late 1800th century. The lid also has the most sparse grain I have seen. The condition is not the best and this one requires a few extra days just for repairs. Will be an exciting conversion to some type of folk instrument, perhaps strapless on the thin extra neck!

With such a diverse collection of caramels, it will surely not be boring in the room for a while! 🙂
