Old Gura 102 for CJ Acoustics in Östervåla

Posted by Roger Häggström on April 22, 2017, 5:54 pm

Has a collaboration with CJ in Östervåla, the only store in Sweden that sells GammelGura. Have not had the opportunity to supply the store with GammelGura for a while, but now a new one is underway. Will try to do what I can to deliver more in the future, I think it is important that you can…

Doug Seeger's Old Gura

Posted by Roger Häggström on April 17, 2017, 12:39 pm

A few years ago, CJ Acoustics and I in Östervåla had the honor of handing over an Old Gura to Doug Seegers. Calle at CJ was recently at a (good!) Gig with him and got the chance to talk a bit and get an autograph on the flyer I made in connection with the guitar. Very fun to know that…

Safer neck adhesion

Posted by Roger Häggström on April 16, 2017, 10:44 am

Sometimes it feels like you know exactly how to do it, but the reality can be different. Have done many throat glues in close succession and not all of them turned out the way I wanted them to. Was t.om. had to re-glue two necks for it to be good. In such situations, you should stop and question…

A plaque with JP Sjöberg says that it was sold in the same city as well! Have seen the blue label before, but this…

Birch saw season again

Posted by Roger Häggström on April 9, 2017, 1:45 pm

With the help of Per Marklund (thank you!) I have started to replenish the stock of birch sap. A tasty sugar water with slightly magical properties. You become energetic and it helps against pollen allergy. That threshold you have for getting started with things is lowered and you get more done! Can be recommended 🙂 You drill a hole in a…

Levin 1905

Posted by Roger Häggström on April 5, 2017, 9:31 pm

Finished with a longer beam, has an even older GammelGura to be fixed as the next project. This one had number 73 in the order. A very nice but simple Levin parlor from 1905. The quality of the craftsmanship of these is mostly better the older they are. The stable was slender and not overly clumsy…
