Some repairs

Two fine guitars passed the workshop this week. A Sundberg that has been exposed to drought and a nice old Hagström electric guitar. The straps on the Sundberg guitar protruded and had a smaller "Korean hump" at the bottom of the fretboard. The paint had a crack in the middle joint below the stable as well, but it was just a fine crack in the paint itself. …

GG121 European nylon string

My clients are either musicians who like old instruments and who want to get an old guitar playable or it is family heirlooms that need to be repaired. This one belongs to the latter category. The guitar was bought and played by her grandfather who was tragically injured at the age of 36 in 1914 in a workplace accident at the Husum factory not far away…

GG116 Swedish harp guitar 1922 made in Norrtelje

I found this at a flea market in Örnsköldsvik in the summer of 2017. In the picture I see that it cost SEK 250! Looked interesting albeit a little primitive. It was built as a harp guitar with 6 extra bass strings, but someone had removed the extension of the head and converted it to a regular guitar. Unusual enough…
