More precisely

Posted by Roger Häggström on January 20, 2017, 2:09 pm

At the end, I have started to work a little more on the appearance of details, before the function has been in focus. The upper saddle now receives a little extra care so that the strings do not lie too deep in the string groove. Polishes a little extra to get it shiny too. Lower string height of 1st just slightly higher than from a zero band. Working more…

GammelGura 96, Levin 1919

original Stable

Load a new method on the site. Describes how I do to reuse a soft black lacquered original on an Old Gura. A 1905 Levin.

Mathematical humor

Posted by Roger Häggström on January 2, 2017, 4:22 am

Do overside saddles and sometimes check online what others are doing. Music Man has oversaddle tuning on their instruments and Earvana sells loose intoned oversaddles. Both are in plastic and the intonation is never as good as it can as each instrument is unique, only if you measure as I do it will be really good (and of course bones…
