Irish tenor banjo B&H London

Received a gift from Östmans Musik AB in the form of a plastic bag with a lot of scrap in it and a neck sticking up. What was this? It turned out to be an Irish tenor banjo of the B&H London brand called "Chandos". 50s or early 60s. A closer examination revealed that all the metal jox was in the bag and a new skin was purchased.

Tweaked to it a bit and replaced the boring black plastic strip that was a fingerboard with a new one in real ebony. Sawed off the plastic, but kept all genuine mother-of-pearl inlays that were moved over to the new fretboard. It also became an adjustable neck with a small invention at the end of the bar inside. It has a 51 cm mensur and should be tuned like a mandolin, now I'm just waiting for the right strings and a K&K mic. Will be delivered to Tonteknik in Umeå, it will be heard on one or another recording what it suffers 🙂
