Status report ongoing batch

Reports the current situation of GGs in the batch I am currently working on. All ribs are in raw format so far and will be carpented down a lot. Two in the same batch had to go before and are already ready, a converted terz and 1908 Levinen in concert format.

GG40 A Levin from 1947. The customer wanted an all round guitar in the style of an expensive Gibson. In the process of a good conversion with x-bracing with peg and new grip board. I am skeptical about the straight edge of the page, added extra netting and planed down the lattice at the neck and bottom pad to a nice curve. It should be exciting to hear how it sounds when it's done.

GG41 A real old man from the late 1800th century, an object from the waiting room. Should be an alternate tuned guitar most likely. Extremely great job with the lid that had all the errors in the book. Cracks in the lid everywhere, the lid loosened against the coffin and biscuits around the stable with an old repair where most of the wood under the stable disappeared. have not decided on the ribbing, leaning on an x to make the lid stronger. Made a stable plate / patch in one piece that partly becomes stable plate but also fills the hole again.

GG42 An older old man, perhaps 1880s with beautiful intarsia in the grip board and violin screws in wood. PegHeds with mechanics built into the peg in black-colored aluminum (with the original skull) is ordered. Spanish attachment, will be a new necklace and a dovetail instead. Easy construction.

GG43 A straggler that I haven't had time to mill a carbon fiber rod into the neck or glue bottom ribs. A classic parlor with "fake bling" in the form of mother-of-pearl crushed into skin glue with ebony dust (most likely). Old, probably turn of the century or older. Good condition. Have seen three similar ones before, wonder where they are built - maybe France?

GG44 An American Chicago built mahogany parlor, possibly a Regal. 1920s or early 30s. Good condition, neck thrown earlier and then the lid under the grip board was mashed. Replaced with a bit of new fir tree. Otherwise good condition, bonding around the bottom was an additional difficulty in dismantling.

The last two in the batch have no buyers so far. Two very similar parlors of simple incision, what is different is that the side is about 1 cm narrower on one. Suitable for testing an X and an A bracing. Both were repainted or very handled and will be sanded and repainted completely. The binding around the sound hole had gone through the lid on both, so I made a full spruce patch around the entire hole.

GG45 Very simple manufactured guitar, you can stick on the inside of the lid! The bottom has various initials engraved.

GG46 This one has a slightly wider rim, otherwise very similar to the 45 '. It was this one that had a 7 mm plywood pasted on the entire inside of the lid… A classic Martin X should probably be able to save it 🙂
