Two fine guitars passed the workshop this week. A Sundberg that has been exposed to drought and a nice old Hagström electric guitar.
The straps on the Sundberg guitar protruded and had a smaller "Korean hump" at the bottom of the fretboard. The paint had a crack in the middle joint below the stable as well, but it was just a fine crack in the paint itself. As the straps were relatively high, it was good to crown the top of the straps below the 14th strap, the protruding ends of the straps were filed down. The strings were old and completely dead, the guitar was brought to life with new Newtone Masterclass 0.11 strings. Good guitar!
ALL screws on the Hagström guitar needed to be tightened! Even all the knobs were loose. Cleaned and lubricated the tuning screws. The neck was very thin but still almost straight. Changed the worn straps and took the opportunity to sand the board completely flat before I strapped on. Clever intonation at the stable with two M2 screws on either side of the contact point, two were missing and replaced with new ones. New Newtone electric guitar strings 0.10 were put on.
Could imagine owning both, nice guitars 🙂
