Article on Norman Wood

I bought an old English guitar magazine with an interview with Norman Wood, the man with the strange guitar construction I posted about earlier. Here is the long article from the magazine. After reading through it, I'm getting a bit of an unpleasant vibe that that man wasn't quite one hundred. Some outlandish theories and especially his conspiracy theory that Gibson/Martin made sure he didn't get the strings and mechanics he ordered... but he clearly had a lot of faith in himself!

Some things he was right in that rosewood is not the only wood you can build with, that the neck should be string up to tension when it is adjusted and that you do not need a truss rod for example. The special frets of recessed bars in stainless steel was a first, now there are stainless steel frets to buy. I also think that the large mass in each fret may sound better. The most interesting detail, I think. The bottom is mostly a gimmick that is neither beautiful nor good.
