Doug Seegers in Öviken!

When listening to Doug Seegers on the people of Örnsköldsvik, less than 100 meters from my room.

Doug had a guitarist / violin player, a drummer and a bassist with him on stage. A good band. He offered famous songs from the last album in the first segment, but after the break a bunch of songs came from the new album. The title track was extremely good! The new record will probably be better than the first one, I hope it sells like butter.

What surprised me a little was that he was such a bluesman and rocker. It both swung and rocked hard at times! His song material is very varied, from bluegrass and old country to something resembling modern arena rock and the worst dirty blues! Modern and old in a nice mix (reminds me a bit of someone I know… ähum…).

God-blessed singer in addition. Whoever has the chance to listen to him should take it!

Got the last record signed afterwards and I talked a little with him about the Old Gura he got in the gift from me and CJ Acoustics a few years ago. He likes it a lot and often plays it at home. He loves that it is old and has history. He does not have it on tour (a new Gibson parlor may do the job on stage). I am very happy that it is played on and that it is popular!
