Old Gura 64 ready

The first GammelGura'n in the ongoing batch is ready and delivered, the others will be ready soon. I only made this ready as it belongs to a local customer who gave me permission to test a new intonation method. In short, it was a success :)

This is a Levin with string holders and floating stables that have been converted to solid stables. A little better than usual as it has nice moldings on the lid, wide frame and fine wood in the side and bottom. No big problems with it, but the tone was not to cheer about, the string height high and the neck a little bent. A classic unplayed wall hanger.

Like all GammelGura, it was disassembled into pieces, a carbon fiber rod was milled into the neck, the ribs were replaced and new tuning screws replaced the old ones. A K&K was installed. A replica of an old Levin pyramid stable was also made on this. Brazilian rosewood in the fretboard with such a deep brown color that it almost looks like ebony was a plus! The fretboard had a nice relief, about 12 at the top and 16 at the bottom. The neck was in al and of the thicker model where the neck gets thicker the closer you get to the body, have only seen that neck shape on Levin from around 1930 with floating stables.

Some pictures from the bottom glue. Here you can see the new rib with A frame under the grip board and the cross-shaped stable plate in spruce with bubing reinforcements around the string holes.

Some pictures of the finished GammelGura'n!
